Personalized Recovery Oriented Services


Tompkins County Personalized Recovery Oriented Services (PROS) is a comprehensive PROS program which operates with four main components. Participants may be involved in the Community Rehabilitation and Support (CRS), Intensive Rehabilitation (IR), Ongoing Rehabilitation and Support (ORS) and/or Clinical Treatment. The goal of Tompkins County PROS is to assist every person in treatment to move toward their own individual recovery. Eligibility for Tompkins County PROS program is for individuals age 18 and over that have a mental illness diagnosis. These individuals must also demonstrate a functional disability in relationship to this diagnosis.

  • Person-centered, client-driven, mental health and substance use rehabilitative services for adults with serious and persistent mental illness
  • Focused on wellness in all life role areas - living, working, learning, and socializing
  • Participants set their own goals focusing on using their strengths to overcome challenges and barriers
  • Services are usually provided in classes taught by staff
  • Individual and family therapy are also available
  • Psychiatrist on staff to complete evaluations and manage medication
  • Classes available from 9am to 3 pm Monday – Friday
  • Staff include Progam Director, Employment and Rehabilitation Specialists, Social Workers, Nurse and Casework Assistant.
