Curbside Recycling Collection on One Day Delay Because of Storm

Thursday, March 16, 2017

Due to this week’s severe winter storm, curbside recycling collection in Tompkins County is on a one day delay for the remainder of the week.

That means if your regularly scheduled collection day was Wednesday, pick up will take place on Thursday; Thursday’s recycling will be collected on Friday; Friday’s will be on Saturday.

Any further updates on the status of curbside recycling collection will be posted to the Recycling and Materials Management website at www.recycletompkins.org.

Because of the range of severity and duration in weather disruptions, it is not possible to predict when a collection route might be completed. Every effort will be made to return to a normal collection schedule as soon as the weather permits and allows for a safe pick up.

Residents always have the option of dropping off their recycling materials at the Recycling and Solid Waste Center at 160 Commercial Avenue in Ithaca. The hours are Monday thru Saturday from 7am to 3:30pm. There is no charge to drop off recyclables at the RSWC.
