Free Buprenorphine Waiver Training for Prescribers

On Saturday, February 24, 2018 there will be a FREE buprenorphine waiver training for Clinical Prescribers. This training is reserved only for those who can prescribe medications. The in-person portion of the training will be offered at Tompkins County Mental Health from 9:00am-1:30pm, and participants can complete the additional 3.5 hrs of online training individually. Buprenorphine is an opioid medication used to treat opioid addiction.

This important training is provided through a partnership between Tompkins County, the University of Buffalo’s Research Institute on Addictions, and NYS OASAS, with support from Care Compass Network. This waiver training is part of an initiative to support and strengthen collaboration among clinical leaders, professionals, and community members across our region, and to create a culturally sensitive and knowledgeable workforce to better meet the needs of the community. 

  • Clinical Prescribers (only for those who prescribe medications) will receive CME credits
  • Prescribers will be eligible to participate in post-training mentoring
  • Light refreshments will be served
  • Prescribers who are CCN DSRIP Project 3ai-Model 1 partners will also receive a $400 reimbursement for training
