County Temporary Assistance and Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program Employment Plan Ready for Review

A plan outlining how Tompkins County Department of Social Services (DSS) operates programs to provide employment services for Temporary Assistance and Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program recipients is available for public review and comment.

The two-year plan, prepared by DSS for the State Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance, outlines the ways local recipients of assistance will be prepared for employment and self-sufficiency.

Included in the plan are summaries of current work development, training and education programs the County provides or contracts out to other agencies. Copies of the plan will be at the Tompkins County Public Library and at the DSS front desk upon request.

The public is invited to comment on the plan, which covers two calendar years from Jan. 1, 2022 to Dec. 31, 2023. Written comments, which will be accepted until 30 days from the date publicized, should be directed to the Department of Social Services, 320 W. Martin Luther King, Jr./State St., Ithaca, NY 14850.
