On April 26, 2022 at 2:22 PM, Tompkins County Sheriff's Deputies responded to Tops Grocery Store, 2300 N. Triphammer Road in the Village of Lansing for a theft complaint.
Upon arrival deputies interviewed Asset Protection who said that they observed a female, identified as Anna N. Lewis, age 31 of Ithaca walking out of the store with a grocery cart full of groceries totaling $510.02 with out any attempt to pay for the items. When Asset Protection spoke with Lewis, she claimed to have paid for the items and provided a receipt from a different day.
Deputies arrested Lewis and charged Lewis with Petit Larceny (Class A Misdemeanor). Lewis was released on an appearance ticket.
