June 17, 2022 - Larceny Arrest

On June 17, 2022 at approximately 5:47 PM, Tompkins County Sheriff's Deputies responded to Target at 40 Catherwood Road in the Village of Lansing for a report of a female who was shoplifting. Target Asset Protection advised our dispatch center that a few cleaning products were taken from their store without being paid for.

When deputies arrived on scene, they located the female who matched the description given by Target Asset Protection walking behind the Cayuga Blu Hotel. Deputies observed all of the stolen merchandise in the possession of the female, who was identified as 35 year old Amanda Wood of Lansing NY. Wood was unable to provide proof of payment for the items, and was subsequently taken into custody. Wood was also found to be in possession of scales, which was later determined to be used for weighing of illicit drugs.

Wood was charged with Petit Larceny (A Misdemeanor) and Criminal Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (A Misdemeanor). Wood showed to have two outstanding warrants out of the Ithaca Police Department, but due to the high call volume, IPD was unable to take care of those warrants. Wood was issued an appearance ticket to appear in the Town of Lansing Court and released.
