On March 17, 2023 at approximately 7:31 PM, Tompkins County Sheriff's Deputies stopped a gray 2007 GMC Sierra on Collins Rd in the Town of Lansing for an expired inspection.
Deputies identified the driver as 33 year-old Richard Bower of Lansing, NY. While deputies were speaking with Bower, deputies observed pills that were a schedule 2 controlled substance on the floor board of the vehicle. Through further investigation deputies determined that the pills did not belong to Bower, but he was in possession of them.
Bower was arrested for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree (Class A Misdemeanor). Bower was processed and issued an appearance ticket to appear in the Town of Lansing Court at a later date.
