On Wednesday, November 16th at about 11:00 pm, Tompkins County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to Little Lawn Equipment on Elmira Road in the Town of Newfield for a reported burglary. Upon investigation, evidence was located that helped develop a suspect, Leandre D. Lovett.
On Thursday, November 17th, the Tompkins County Sheriff's Office assisted the Seneca County Sheriff's Office with an active criminal investigation in the area of Rt. 96 and County Road 143. The suspect was ultimately taken into custody. The suspect was identified as Leandre D. Lovett, age 29 or Ithaca NY.
Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office has pending charges of Burglary 2nd degree for Lovett. He will be arraigned at a later time on the charges in Tompkins County.
