Children with Special Care Needs

Tompkins County Whole Health's Children with Special Care Needs (CSCN) Division is looking for qualified applicants for the following positions:

Tompkins County Whole Health is establishing an in-house therapy team to provide evaluations and therapy services for children in the Early Intervention Program and Preschool Services for children birth to age 4. The positions will primarily provide services in the home. Provide care in a team-based approach working closely with a Service Coordinator and other therapists. 


 

Community Health Services

Tompkins County Whole Health's Community Health Services is looking for qualified applicants in the following position:

This Registered Nurse position involves doing home visits for our maternal child health program. The position also involves working in our immunization clinic and rotating on-call. We welcome applicants with a desire to work in prevention-focused programs to support overall community health.

Mental Health Services

Licensed Clinical Therapists - CARE Team

Mental Health Services of Tompkins County Whole Health is expanding its Law Enforcement Co-Response program called the Crisis Alternatives Response and Engagement (CARE) Team with the Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office. Mental Health Services of Tompkins County Whole Health is seeking a CARE Team Licensed Clinical Therapist (LMSW, LCSW, LMHC, LMFT, LCAT) who is passionate about providing clinical intervention and support to individuals experiencing a mental health crisis in the community. The CARE Team Licensed Clinical Therapist will partner with assigned Tompkins County Sheriff’s Deputies and respond to mental and behavioral health crisis calls the are received by 911 Dispatch.

The CARE Team Licensed Clinical Therapist should have or be able to obtain a NYS driver’s license by the time of appointment and will provide crisis intervention/de-escalation, psychological and risk assessments/safety planning. The therapist will also utilize their knowledge of systems to make referrals to community service providers and provide follow up support for individuals in the community living with behavioral health disorders as a member of a co-response team. The goal of the co-response team is to provide greater access to community mental health services to reduce unnecessary hospitalizations and divert individuals from the criminal justice system whenever possible.

This is a full time 40 hour/week position, Monday-Friday 2:00PM-10:00PM daily. Salary includes a shift differential. This position does not require a civil service exam. TCWH is an approved NHSC Loan Repayment Site.

Mental Health Clinic Director

TCWH's Mental Health Services seeks a Clinic Director to join our team of passionate professionals dedicated to providing treatment services to adults, children and families with mental health and co-occurring substance use disorders.  We offer a challenging and rewarding work environment that is team centered and community focused, with the goal of living out our values of integrity, accountability, equity and respect daily. 

New York State Registered Nurses, New York State Licensed Clinical Social Workers and NY State Licensed Psychologists may apply.

As the Director, you will be responsible for daily oversite of clinic operations ensuring high quality care is provided in compliance with regulatory requirements.  You will directly supervise five senior level clinicians who supervise licensed clinical therapists and nurses. You will partner with the Medical Director who has oversight of the psychiatric staff. You will attend and facilitate regular meetings, ensure compliance with relevant rules and regulations, and be responsible for writing/updating clinic policies and procedures. Additionally, you will oversee and evaluate the performance of staff in the department, provide training for staff, and be responsible for meeting budgeted revenue goals. This is a daytime, Monday through Friday position with minimal on call responsibilities. The starting salary is $103,521 with a working rate (after 9 months of continuous employment) of $112,507. Additional salary increases are expected pending the finalization of contract updates.

Medical Director - Mental Health

There is currently one position available in the title of Medical Director - Mental Health in the Tompkins County Mental Health Department. This is a full time provisional, 40 hour per week position. $299,000 Annual Salary. Residency waived.

The Medical Director of Mental Health will provide out-patient and emergency service assessments and treatment as required by the Commissioner of Mental Health Services. They will perform psychiatric consultation with individual patients, provide emergency medical and psychiatric services, as well as psychiatric consultations, examination and emergency backup for law enforcement agencies and courts within the county. The Medical Director will perform court evaluations as requested and order hospital commitments as indicated. They will apply psychiatric expertise to the planning, coordination and operation of the mental health, substance use disorder and developmental disability services provided within Tompkins County. The employee will make recommendations to the Commissioner of Mental Health towards attaining an effective and comprehensive community mental health, substance use disorder and developmental disability program. He or she will assist the Commissioner of Mental Health Services in direct services and duties of the Local Government Unit. The incumbent exercises general supervision over Psychiatrists and various program directors.

Nurse Practitioner in Psychiatry

The successful candidate will work as an integral part of the multi-disciplinary team which includes psychiatrists, therapists, community mental health nurses and rehabilitation specialists to provide excellent, comprehensive behavioral health treatment to a diverse range of individuals. An interest in community mental health and working with the severe and persistently mentally ill would be welcome. TCWH prioritizes both supervision and training and these will be provided to a successful candidate so as to support their practice in the Clinic and further career development.
