On February 27, 2023 at 8:37 AM, Tompkins County Sheriff's Deputies were patrolling Armstrong Road in the Town of Lansing. While on patrol, Deputies observed a male walking the wrong direction on the roadway and who appeared suspicious.
Deputies stopped the male who originally identified themselves as Robert J. Watson. During their investigation, Deputies discovered that this was a fake name and date of birth and arrested the subject. During their search of the suspect deputies located methamphetamine and a methamphetamine smoking pipe on his person.
After being transported to the Sheriff's Office, Deputies were able to identify the male as Alexander B. Capalongo, age 29 of Ithaca, NY. Capalongo was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree (Class A Misdemeanor), False Impersonation (Class B Misdemeanor) and issued a traffic ticket for Pedestrian Failing to Walk with Traffic. Capalongo was turned over to the Tompkins County Jail to be seen later at Centralized Arraignment.
