On January 15, 2023 at 4:33 PM, Tompkins County Sheriff's Deputies were patrolling the McLean area. While on patrol, they observed a Dodge Caravan operating on McLean/Cortland Road with an expired inspection. Deputies conducted a stop on the motor vehicle and spoke with the driver, Anthony R. Monk, age 38 of Cortland, NY. During their investigation, Deputies observed signs of impairment and conducted a DWI Investigation that resulted in Monks arrest for Driving While Intoxicated.
Monk was charged with Driving While Intoxicated - Common Law (Unclassified Misdemeanor), Driving While Intoxicated with a BAC of .08% or Greater (Unclassified Misdemeanor), Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated (Unclassified Misdemeanor) and Open Container (Traffic Infraction).
Monk was processed and later released on traffic tickets ordering him to appear at the Town of Groton Court at a later date.
