July 29, 2022 - Narcotics Arrest

On July 29, 2022 at 9:16 AM, Tompkins County Sheriff's Deputies were patrolling the area of West Dryden Road in the Town of Dryden. Deputies conducted a traffic stop on West Dryden Road after observing a red Dodge Ram with out a valid inspection. Deputies identified the driver as Jeremy J. Leitch, age 41 of Newfield, NY. During the course of the investigation, Deputies conducted a vehicle search. As a result of the search, Deputies located what was later identified as Fentanyl inside of a Leitch's wallet.

Leitch was arrested for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree (Class A Misdemeanor), Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle in the Third Degree (Unclassified Misdemeanor), Displaying a Forged Inspection Sticker (Unclassified Misdemeanor), Unlicensed Operator (Traffic Infraction) and No Inspection(Traffic Infraction). Leitch was released on appearance tickets ordering him to return to the Town of Dryden Court at a later date.
