World AIDS Day Remembrance Event, Nov. 30

Although HIV/AIDS is no longer the crisis we once knew it to be, World AIDS Day (December 1) remains an important day to remember those lost to the epidemic, be thankful to those who have and continue to make a difference, and look forward to future progress!

In recognition, please join Planned Parenthood and Tompkins County Health Department in a FREE screening of: How to Survive a Plague. Thursday November 30th, 7:00 p.m. at Cinemapolis, 120 E. Green St., downtown Ithaca.

How to Survive a Plague is an incisive and heartfelt 2012 American documentary film about the early years of the AIDS epidemic, and the efforts of activism groups ACT UP and TAG. The documentary was produced using more than 700 hours of archived footage which included news coverage, interviews as well as film of demonstrations, meetings and conferences taken by ACT UP members themselves.

Information and resources on local HIV/AIDS prevention efforts in the lobby starting at 6:00. Click to download an event flyer.
