Tompkins County Announces Spring 2024 Tourism Grant Opportunities

The Tompkins County Tourism Program is thrilled to announce the next round of funding opportunities for organizations to plan events, enhance outdoor recreation, and attract visitors to our vibrant community. Applications are now open for the following grant programs:

Community Celebrations Grants

  • Support: Local events showcasing Tompkins County's unique culture and history.
    • Events must be free and open to the public.
  • Funding: $22,750 for spring 2024
  • Award Range: $500 to $2,500
  • Deadline: Feb. 29, 2024

Tourism Advancement Grants

  • Support: Activities, events, and marketing campaigns that attract visitors for overnight stays.
    • Special emphasis on proposals that grow tourism demand during times when the county has capacity to accommodate additional visitors such as winter and mid-week.
  • Funding: $91,000 for spring 2024
  • Award Range: $1,000 to $20,000
  • Deadline: Feb. 29, 2024

Tompkins Outdoors Grants

  • Support: Organizations managing outdoor recreation assets and offering related programming
    • This grant provides general operating support to organizations that enhance the county’s profile as an outdoor recreation destination
  • Funding: $65,000 for 2024
  • Award Range: $19,000 or 10% of organization operating budget (whichever is less)
  • Application Process:
    • Eligibility Questionnaire: Jan. 26, 2024
    • Full Application: Invited applicants submit by Feb. 29, 2024

Final award decisions for all spring grants are expected in mid-April 2024.
