Senior Nutrition Program: Home Delivered and Congregate Meal Program
The Senior Nutrition Program provides home delivered meals, community dining, nutrition education and nutrition counseling to eligible older adults age 60 and over.
The Office for the Aging contracts our county nutrition program to Foodnet Meals on Wheels.
Home Delivered Meals
Hot meals are delivered to eligible older adults Monday through Friday. Meals are delivered by caring staff and volunteers at Foodnet who are able to check in with each client at delivery. Please contact Foodnet Meals on Wheels at 607-266-9553 for eligibility.
Congregate Meal Program
Through our contract with Foodnet Meals on Wheels we are able to provide community dining sites throughout Tompkins County. These sites promote healthy eating and socialization for eligible older adults. We currently have two dining sites:
- Titus Towers- 798 S. Plain St., Ithaca- open Monday through Friday, 11:00am-1:30pm with lunch served at 12:00pm-Registration is required.
- Slaterville Springs Volunteer Fire Company- 2681 Slaterville Rd., Slaterville Springs- open Tuesdays, 11:00am-1:30pm with lunch served at 12:00pm-Registration is required.

Nutrition Education
As part of the Senior Nutrition Program, monthly nutrition education presentations are organized and conducted by the Registered Dietician at Foodnet Meals on Wheels and presented at the community dining sites. Educational materials are also created and distributed with the home delivered meals.
Nutrition Counseling
Nutrition counseling is offered and provided to all eligible clients. These counseling sessions are conducted by the Registered Dietician at Foodnet Meals on Wheels in the comfort of the clients home.

Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program
Each summer the Office for the Aging provides Farmers Market Coupons. Coupon booklets are free to income eligible individuals age 60 or over. Each booklet includes five $5.00 coupons ($25 value) that are redeemable at participating Farmers Markets. Coupons are available until September 30th and are redeemable until November 30th. Our office maintains a list of interested individuals throughout the year so if you are interested in obtaining Farmers Market coupons please contact our office at (607) 274-5482.
2025 Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program
Program Opens July 1st.
Beginning Tuesday, July 1st, coupons for the Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program will be available to eligible clients until September 30th. Coupon booklets are given out on a first come, first serve basis. Coupons are available for pick up at our office located at 214 W. Martin Luther King Jr./State St. Outreach staff will also be distributing at various sites throughout the county.
Basic Information
Each booklet contains five $5 coupons ($25). These coupons are good to purchase fresh, local, and unprocessed fruits and vegetables.
The coupons can be used at any participating market or farm stand, with any participating vendor in New York State. Participating vendors will have signs stating that they accept the coupons.
Recipients can redeem coupons until November 30th, after which, they become invalid. Recipients can also have someone else redeem the coupons for them if they cannot travel to a farmers market.

Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)
Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits help low-income working people, older adults, people with disabilities, and others put healthy food on the table. Benefits are provided through an electronic benefit card (EBT) which is similar to a debit or credit card. Eligibility and benefit levels are based on household size, income, expenses and other factors. Call the Office for the Aging at 607-274-5482 for information and assistance.
