The Tompkins County Annual EMS Awards were presented May 21, 2026 during National EMS Week in recognition of the emergency medical services personnel who provide vital services to our community. This year's recipients were:

Crew of the Year: Hannah Roman, Courtney Bangs, and Audrey Xie from Bangs Ambulance, and Connor Jones, Bryan Adams, Drew Hurd, Richard Young, and Robert Shepherd from the Ithaca Fire Department

Agency of the Year: Tompkins County EMS/Rapid Medical Response

ALS Provider of the Year: Brad Bostrom

BLS Provider of the Year: Anthony Whitaker

EMS Award of Excellence: Andrew Tompkins of Koskinen's Towing for pulling a potential suicide victim from the Stewart Ave. bridge in Ithaca

Tim Bangs Lifetime Achievement Award: Bill Ackroyd
