The Tompkins County Annual EMS Awards were presented on May 22, 2025 during National EMS Week in recognition of the emergency medical services personnel who provide vital services to our community:
Crew of the Year – Brad Johnson and Brianna Leonard of Bangs Ambulance
Agency of the Year – Varna Volunteer Fire Company
ALS Provider of the Year – Courtney Bangs of Bangs Ambulance
BLS Provider of the Year – Corey Ike of Enfield Volunteer Fire Company
EMS Award of Excellence – Tompkins County Sheriff's Deputy Matt Haselman
Tim Bangs Lifetime Achievement Award – Colleen Price, EMT/Paramedic Educator

Tompkins County launched a new initiative in April 2024 aimed at reducing the amount of time it takes for emergency medical services (EMS) to reach residents in primarily rural areas of the County. In just over a year's time, the Rapid Medical Response Program has met that objective.
