On Thursday, 06/26/25, at about 2:00 pm, a Tompkins County Sheriff deputy attempted to make a traffic stop of a motor vehicle in the City of Ithaca for vehicle and traffic violations. The vehicle failed to stop, pulled into the Seneca Street Parking garage, and drove to the top level. The operator then began to drive back down before coming to a stop. The operator, Keenan L. Vick Sr., age 46, of Trumansburg, was removed from the vehicle and detained. K9 Trip was deployed and had a positive alert on the vehicle. Following further investigation, deputies located over two pounds of Methamphetamine in the vehicle as well as 19 grams of heroin, 1.2 ounces of crack cocaine, and 1.4 ounces of psilocybin mushrooms.

 

Vick was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 2nd Degree, a Class A-2 Felony, 2 counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd Degree, a Class B Felony, Unlawfully Fleeing a Police Officer, a Class A Misdemeanor, Obstructing Governmental Administration, a Class A Misdemeanor, Resisting Arrest, a Class A Misdemeanor, and multiple vehicle and traffic violations.

 

Vick was arraigned in CAP court and remanded to the Tompkins County Jail without bail.
