May 15, 2026 - Assault in the Third Degree Arrest

On May 15, 2026, at approximately 8:30 p.m., deputies with the Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office responded to the Roadway Inn, located at 654 Elmira Road in the Town of Ithaca, for a reported physical dispute involving a male and female.

Upon arrival, deputies interviewed all involved parties and potential witnesses at the scene. Through the investigation, deputies identified the male involved as 51-year-old Donta Braxton of Ithaca, New York.

Braxton is accused of punching a female victim in the face, causing physical injury.

As a result of the investigation, Donta Braxton was arrested and charged with Assault in the Third Degree, a Class A misdemeanor.

Braxton was processed on the charge, issued an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Ithaca Court at a later date, and released.
