Daniel Nolan was sworn in on July 3, 2025 to fill a vacant seat on the Tompkins County Legislature representing District 3 in the City of Ithaca. The Democratic candidate ran unopposed in a special election and won the seat that was vacated by Susan Currie in March. Legislator Nolan will serve the rest of her term, which concludes at the end of this year.

Several legislators attended the ceremony, including Chair of the Legislature Dan Klein.

“The Tompkins County Legislature welcomes Dan Nolan as he joins our ranks. There are many big issues we are working on, and Dan will have his work cut out for him to get up to speed on them all.”

Legislator Nolan stated,

“I am incredibly grateful for this opportunity to once again serve the people of Tompkins County and to represent my friends and neighbors in Belle Sherman and South Hill. Though my time on the Legislature will be limited, I look forward to making the most of it and working with my colleagues to take on the pressing issues that continue to face our County.
