March 5, 2026 - Assault Arrest

On March 5, 2026, at approximately 9:00 PM, deputies from the Tompkins County Sheriff's Office responded to the William George Agency in the Town of Dryden for a report that a staff member had been assaulted and that three juvenile residents, two females and one male, had absconded from the facility. 

Upon arrival, deputies located a 26-year-old male staff member who was bleeding from the head. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. 

A short time later, deputies located the three juvenile residents walking along Fall Creek Road. The two female juveniles were turned over to William George Agency staff without incident. 

The third individual, a male juvenile, was charged with one count of Assault in the Second Degree, a Class D Felony, and one count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Fourth Degree, an A Misdemeanor. The male juvenile was processed, issued an appearance ticket, and subsequently released to William George Agency staff. 

The Tompkins County Sheriff's Office was assisted by the New York State Police.
