The Tompkins County Board of Elections is announcing the winners of the 2025 voting sticker contests. Nearly 1,300 votes were cast by the public, selecting Sevy Stiglitz’s “Future Voter” design featuring a hand-drawn dog wearing a hat and the American flag in the background, and Olivia Casselberry’s “I Voted” design centered around a hand-drawn dog sitting in the grass. Both winning designs incorporated dogs in an outdoor setting. Olivia is a seventh-grade student at Boynton Middle School who likes theater, music, and drawing, as well as taking the family dog to the dog park. Sevy is a fourth-grade student at Belle Sherman Elementary School who enjoys art, reading, music, and playing sports. She loves animals of all kinds.
“I Voted” stickers will be distributed to all general election voters this November, and “Future Voter” stickers will be handed out to young people joining their families at the polls to learn more about democracy and voting.
The winners will receive copies of their winning sticker design and a proclamation from the Tompkins County Legislature later this year.
Republican Elections Commissioner Alanna Congdon stated,
“Congratulations to both students for their amazing artwork and to everyone who participated in the contests this year. The Board of Elections is so proud to be able to encourage civic engagement in this way.”
Democratic Elections Commissioner Steve DeWitt said,
“This has been a great way to get the word out about elections. We will be giving out two beautiful stickers this year to those who show up to the polls. Kudos to the artists and everyone, from teachers to family members, who helped encourage submissions this year.”
