On 08/23/26, at 2:40 PM, deputies arrested James R. Campbell, age 59, of the City of Ithaca, and charged him with Grand Larceny 4th, Class E. Felony. It is alleged that Campbell stole a wallet containing a credit card from a customer of the Danby Mini Mart, in the Town of Caroline, NY. Campbell is scheduled to appear in Town of Caroline Court on 09/07/26 at 3:00 PM.

On 08/24/26, at 11:34 PM, deputies arrested Brian J. Dempsey, age 53, of Syracuse, NY, and charged him with:
- Failure to Keep Right (Traffic Violation)
- Aggravated Unlicensed Operation
- Driving While Intoxicated

It is alleged that Dempsey was involved in a motor vehicle crash at the intersection of Peruville & Sharpsteen Roads in the Town of Groton, NY. Dempsey rolled his vehicle and needed to be transported to Upstate Medical Center for his injuries.

Dempsey is scheduled to appear in the Town of Lansing Court on 09/21/26, at 2:00 PM.

On 08/26/26, at 10:38 PM, deputies arrested Melissa A. Hoffman, age 50, of the Town of Ithaca, NY, and charged her with Driving While Intoxicated and issued a citation for Leaving the Scene of a Property Damage Accident. It is alleged that Hoffman drove her vehicle into a ditch in the 1000 block of Coddington Road, T/Ithaca, and then attempt to flee on foot and hide from deputies. Hoffman will be arraigned in Centralized Arraignment Court on 08/27/26 at 8:00 PM.

All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
