August 26, 2026 - Burglary Arrests

On 08/26/2026, at approximately 3:30 AM, Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to a shuttered business in the 100 Block of Fenner Road in the Town of Lansing for a reported Trespassing in Progress. 

Arriving on scene, deputies located a suspicious vehicle parked behind a closed gate on the property.  While investigating the suspicious vehicle deputies heard tools being used as well other suspicious sounds from within the property. 

Deputies subsequently located and detained two suspects actively removing parts from vehicles and gathering other valuables from around the property. 

During the investigation, deputies learned that there were two more suspects still unaccounted for. 

The first two suspects were arrested and transported to the Sheriff’s Office for processing. 

Harold W. Rumpff, age 41,of Locke, NY was charged with Criminal Trespass in the 3rd Degree (Class A Misdemeanor), Possession of Burglar Tools (Class A Misdemeanor), and Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the 5th Degree (Class A Misdemeanor).  Rumpff was subsequently transported to the Tompkins County Jail for centralized arraignment. 

Shannon-Ashley L. Moore, age 32,of Lansing, NY was charged with Criminal Trespass in the 3rd Degree (Class A Misdemeanor) and Possession of Burglar Tools (Class A Misdemeanor).  Moore was subsequently released on appearance tickets to appear in Town of Lansing Court on a later date. 

Ricky A. White, age 51,of Locke, NY was charged with one count of Burglary in the 3rd Degree (Class D Felony) and transported to the Tompkins County Jail for centralized arraignment. 

Anthony P. Rejman, age 37,of King Ferry, NY was charged with one count of Criminal Trespass in the 3rd Degree (Class A Misdemeanor) and one count of Possession of Burglar Tools (Class A Misdemeanor).  Rejman was processed and released on appearance tickets ordering him to appear in the Town of Lansing Court on a later date. 

Who is eligible for arraignment and who is required to be released on appearance tickets are determined by Bail Reform requirements and these decisions are not left to the discretion of the Sheriff's Office. 

These are allegations only, and all parties are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
