At the June 15 Legislature meeting, HOLT architects presented updated interior and exterior renderings and floor plans (view slides) (PDF, 4MB), reflecting legislative direction to reduce the building size to 45,000 square feet.

The resulting programming changes include County Administration, Human Resources, and Planning and Sustainability departments not moving into the new Center of Government. Under this revised plan, County Administration and Human Resources would return to the Old Jail building on East Court Street. The Planning and Sustainability department would remain at the Governor Daniel D. Tompkins building on East Court Street.

About the Project

The proposed project involves constructing a 45,000-square-foot Center of Government designed to centralize County services, enhance staff equity, improve operational efficiency, eliminate reliance on leased space, and support long-term sustainability. The project will involve the removal of three structures in the DeWitt Park Historic District (128 E. Buffalo St. and 300 and 308 N. Tioga St.). The project is expected to be completed in 2029.
