On February 9, 2026, at approximately 12:39 a.m., the Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on North Fulton Street in the City of Ithaca after observing a 2011 Honda traveling the wrong way on a one-way roadway.

The operator was identified as Karen E. Brown, age 60, of Trumansburg, NY. Through further investigation deputies determined Brown to be intoxicated and subsequently arrested Brown.

Brown was charged with Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated, Driving While Intoxicated, and Driving the Wrong Way on a One-Way Roadway.

Brown was released on an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in City of Ithaca Court on March 4, 2026, at 10:30 a.m.
