June 28, 2026 - Burglary Report Leads to Narcotics Arrest

On June 28, 2026, at approximately 11:24 PM, deputies from the Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office responded to a reported burglary in progress at a residence on Dryden Road in the Town of Dryden.  Responding units were advised that multiple suspects armed with firearms had been involved. Upon arrival, deputies were unable to locate any individuals at the residence.

 

Moments later, deputies observed a subject on foot near a commercial property at 7 Yellow Barn Road.  The individual was identified as Christopher J. Capalongo, age 39, of Dryden. Capalongo appeared to be under the influence and requested transport to a local hospital for medical care.

 

During contact with deputies, Capalongo voluntarily turned over a baggie containing a white crystal substance, which he identified as methamphetamine.  The substance was subsequently tested and confirmed to be methamphetamine. Capalongo was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree.  He was issued an appearance ticket for the Town of Dryden Court for July 27, 2026.  Medical care was provided following the incident.
