Published on June 04, 2026

On June 4, 2026, at approximately 8:00 p.m., deputies with the Tompkins County Sheriff's Office conducted a traffic stop following observations of a vehicle speeding and passing unsafely in the 1200 block of Trumansburg Road in the Town of Ithaca.

Deputies observed a white Toyota Corolla bearing Massachusetts registration committing multiple traffic violations and initiated a vehicle stop. The driver was identified as 37-year-old Calem Saddler of Lowman, New York.

During the investigation, deputies observed items inside the vehicle consistent with narcotics use and determined that Saddler was operating the vehicle while his New York State driver's license was suspended. During the encounter, Saddler admitted to possessing methamphetamine inside the vehicle.

A subsequent search of the vehicle resulted in the discovery of a white crystal-like substance that field-tested positive for methamphetamine. Saddler was taken into custody and transported to the Tompkins County Public Safety Building for processing.

Saddler was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle in the Third Degree, Speed in Zone, and Passing Unsafely.

Following processing, Saddler was issued appearance tickets and released. He is scheduled to appear in the Town of Ithaca Court at a later date to answer the charges.
