September 27, 2026 - Larceny Arrest

On September 27, 2026, at approximately 6:00 p.m., Tompkins County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to Target, located at 40 Catherwood Road in the Village of Lansing, for a reported theft.

The Tompkins County Communications Center advised responding deputies that Target Asset Protection had an individual in their office who was accused of stealing merchandise from the store.

Upon arrival, deputies identified the individual as 18-year-old Sariyah Johnson of Dallas, Texas. Deputies interviewed Target Asset Protection personnel, who requested criminal charges against Johnson.

Deputies reviewed surveillance footage from the store and subsequently arrested Johnson for Petit Larceny, a Class A misdemeanor.

Johnson was transported to the Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office, where she was processed and issued an appearance ticket. Johnson is scheduled to appear in Town of Lansing Court at a future date to answer the charge.
