Community invited to final Countywide Minimum Wage Study convening

Tompkins County is inviting residents to participate in the final public convening of its Countywide Minimum Wage Study on August 27, where consultants from the Cornell ILR Ithaca Co-Lab will present highlights of the study's findings and gather final public questions and comments before the report is presented in full to the Tompkins County Legislature.

Community voting is open for county’s 2026 election sticker contest

Tompkins County residents now have the opportunity to help select the county’s next official “I Voted” and “Future Voter” stickers. The Tompkins County Board of Elections received a record-breaking 169 entries from students across the county, ranging from kindergarten through high school. This year's contest invited students to create designs inspired by America's 250th anniversary.

Annual “I Voted” and “Future Voter” sticker contests now open

“What will democracy look like through the eyes of Tompkins County students?” The Board of Elections is inviting young artists across Tompkins County to make their mark on democracy through its annual Election Sticker Design Contests. This year’s theme celebrates the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, giving students a chance to honor America's birthday.

Biennial TA/SNAP Employment Plan now open for public comment

A hard copy of this document is available for review on-site at the Tompkins County Department of Social Services at 320 W Martin Luther King Jr./State Street in Ithaca.

Tompkins County seeks nominations for Strength in Diversity Award

The Tompkins County Workforce Diversity and Inclusion Committee (WDIC) is seeking nominations for its second annual ‘Leslyn McBean-Clairborne Strength in Diversity Award.’ The committee is asking the community to nominate individuals and organizations that excel in the areas of diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice. Nominations are due by November 9, 2025.
