The address focused on the County’s on-going work and vision for a variety of projects and initiatives to enhance the lives of Tompkins County residents, thanking community partners for their valued support. Klein announced the 2025 Legislature Committee Chairs appointments during the address.

Tompkins County Whole Health (TCWH) offices at 55 Brown Rd. (Town of Ithaca) and 201 E. Green St. (City of Ithaca) will be closed on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, for staff development. Our answering service will receive phone calls and messages will be reviewed throughout the day.

Radon Awareness Week (1/27-1/31): Test Your Home, Protect Your Health

Radon is an odorless, colorless, and tasteless gas that can cause serious health problems, including lung cancer, if left undetected in your home. Radon is naturally occurring in the ground but can enter the home through cracks or gaps in the floors or walls. Once the radon is inside the home, the levels can build up over time. The only way to know if radon is in your home is to test the air.

Support Mental Health and Substance Use Prevention in Tompkins County

Tompkins County Whole Health (TCWH) seeks individuals with a passion for addressing issues regarding mental health and substance use to join the Tompkins County Community Services Board (CSB) or serve on one of the CSB’s subcommittees: Substance Use, Developmental Disabilities, and Mental Health. The CSB has multiple vacancies and invites interested candidates to apply.

1st Annual McLean Potato Festival

2022 Housing Snapshot Now Available

Tompkins County Department of Planning and Sustainability has released the 2022 Housing Snapshot, the fourth edition of the report since the 2018 Housing Snapshot. The 2022 edition documents achievements in providing supportive, affordable, and student housing, but finds that the local housing market falls well short of meeting overall housing need.

2023 Property Tax Auction Indefinitely Postponed

(Ithaca, N.Y. June 2, 2023) -- Tompkins County Attorney William Troy has announced the following: “In light of the U.S. Supreme Court decision issued on May 25, 2023, and the fact that the State Legislature may place a limit on when foreclosures can resume, the Tompkins County Property Tax Auction scheduled for June 5 will not go forward without further advice from New York State Authorities.
