April 21, 2025 - Motor Vehicle Accident

On 04/21/25 at 8:31 AM, deputies responded to NYS Route 96B (Danby Road) at the intersection of Alumni Circle (Ithaca College) and the entrance to the South Hill Business Campus for a personal injury motor vehicle collision. 

It was determined that a 2024 Kia was traveling north on Route 96B when the operator attempted to turn left into the Business Campus. The operator had turned in front of an oncoming 2025 Toyota traveling south on 96B. Both had a green light at the intersection; however, the Toyota had the right of way. 

The operator of the Kia was transported by helicopter to a medical center in Pennsylvania for possible internal injuries. The operator of the Toyota was transported by Bangs Ambulance to Cayuga Medical Center for the same. An updated condition of both operators is unknown at this time. Neither operator had passengers. 

The operator of the Kia was issued a citation for Failure to Yield Right of Way.
