August 3, 2026 - Shots Fired Investigation

The Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office is investigating reports of gunfire that occurred during the early morning hours of August 3, 2026, in the Town of Ulysses.

At approximately 2:24 AM, deputies responded to the area of Perry City Road and Pine Ridge Road after receiving a report of multiple gunshots. Upon arrival, deputies located seven spent handgun casings in the roadway.  A search of the surrounding area did not reveal any property damage consistent with gunfire.

A separate resident reported hearing five gunshots at approximately 2:03 AM near Perry City Road and Jacksonville Road.  Deputies responded to that location as well but did not locate any spent casings.

This investigation remains active and we have no leads, vehicle descriptors, or suspects.  The Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone who may have seen or heard anything during this timeframe, or who may have relevant home security footage to contact the Sheriff’s Office at 607-257-1345.
