Over the past four weeks, we’ve looked at what Tompkins County does, why building the budget is challenging, how the budget is developed, and how the property tax levy and tax cap work.
Now, the numbers are here.
On September 1, County Administrator Korsah Akumfi presented the 2027 Recommended Budget to the Tompkins County Legislature. The proposal represents the starting point for the Legislature’s review and deliberations over the coming weeks, not the final budget.
