Parcels for Auction Available Online

The Real Property Tax Foreclosure Auction will take place online this year. The parcels offered for auction can be accessed through the Finance Department web page. The bidding will take place from June 12 through 23.

The Legislature Modified Department Placements for the Center of Government Planning

Facilities and Infrastructure Committee Chair Lee Shurtleff (R-Groton, Dryden, Lansing) introduced, and the Legislature unanimously approved, an amendment to resolution 2024-36, updating the placement of departments in downtown facilities as the planning for the Center of Government proceeds.

  • The Old Jail Building (125 East Court Street): Renovations to include Tompkins County Workforce Development, NYS Department of Labor, and Assigned Counsel.
  • The Center of Government Building (North Tioga and East Buffalo Streets): Designed to include Assessment, County Administration, County Attorney, County Clerk, District Attorney, Finance, Human Resources, Information Technology Services, Office for the Aging, Office of Human Rights, Veterans Services, Planning and Sustainability, and Ithaca Tompkins County Transportation Council.
  • Human Services Annex (214 West State Street): Relocation of the Board of Elections staff and election machine storage to the Human Services Annex or another location to be determined and suitable for the needs of the department (amended by Legislator Greg Mezey, D-Dryden).
Other Business

Proclamations designated May as Community Action Month and Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander American Heritage Month, and recognized Memorial Day in honor of our fallen and late military members.
