Incident Overview:
Tompkins County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a domestic disturbance involving a firearm. While en route, dispatch reported that two males were struggling over a rifle, and one had fled the scene with a .22 caliber firearm.
A male matching the suspect’s description was observed running northeast on Hector Street, appearing to have facial injuries. Deputies attempted to detain the individual, who was non-compliant. Following a brief struggle, the suspect was taken into custody.

White received medical attention on scene but declined further treatment.
Investigation Findings:
Witnesses allege that White pointed the rifle at a family member and pulled the trigger, but the weapon failed to discharge. He then fled on foot and discarded the rifle nearby. Deputies conducted a search and successfully located and secured the firearm.
