On March 10^th 2026 at 7:20 PM, Tompkins County Sheriff Deputies responded to the Ithaca Laundromat, located at 327 S. Cayuga St in the City of Ithaca for a report of a female operating a white Subaru who appeared intoxicated

Upon arrival, deputies identified the operator of the vehicle as 69-year-old Cherri Caldwell of Ithaca, New York. Deputies conducted an investigation and further interviewed Caldwell at the scene. Following the investigation, Caldwell was arrested for driving while intoxicated.

Caldwell has been charged with Driving While Intoxicated and Driving While Intoxicated with a Blood Alcohol Content (BAC) above .08%.

Caldwell was processed on the charges, issued an appearance ticket, and released to a sober third party. She is scheduled to appear in Ithaca City Court at a later date to answer the charges.
