Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office Launches New Incident Reporting Portal on Transparency Hub
The Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office is proud to announce the launch of its new Incident Reporting Portal, an interactive online platform designed to provide the public with greater access to agency data, operational information, and performance metrics across three pages consisting of Overview, Locations, and Trends.
The latest portal provides incident response data and trend analysis by municipality, year, day of the week, and time of day. It also provides an address search function. Our call log provides incident response data for the past 7 days, which is updated every 24 hours.
The Transparency Hub reflects the Sheriff’s Office’s ongoing commitment to transparency, accountability, and public trust by making important operational information more accessible and easier for the community to understand. Through the platform, community members can explore a variety of dashboards and reports related to our operations. The portal does not include response information for other law enforcement agencies within Tompkins County.
In addition to the Incident Reporting Portal, the Transparency Hub currently includes dashboards for the Crisis Alternative & Engagement Team (CARE), Defensive Action (Use of Force) statistics, Civilian Response Unit, Traffic Stops & Tickets, and Stop DWI enforcement activities. This ongoing project has been in development for several years and will continue to expand.
Sheriff Derek Osborne stated:

The Sheriff’s Office will continue updating and expanding the Transparency Hub to further enhance public awareness and community engagement. Future additions include Corrections data and the potential development of an Animal Abuse Registry.
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to the Tompkins County Information Technology Services Department. The amount of time and effort they spent to both extrapolate the data and present it in a presentable format made this project possible.
