Food Scraps Recycling Drop Spots are canceled for Sunday, Jan. 25, due to an approaching winter storm and dangerously cold conditions.
The Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office is advising residents to prepare for hazardous travel conditions, including snow, ice and reduced visibility as well as extreme cold. Forecasts indicate the potential for significant snowfall and prolonged below-average temperatures.

Residents can store food scraps in the freezer to help prevent odors.
Future updates will be posted at www.RecycleTompkins.org at least one hour before the scheduled opening. Please check the website before traveling to a drop spot.
