Veteran's Day Closings and Recycling Collection Schedule

The Tompkins County Department of Recycling and Materials Management (TCRMM) office will be closed Wednesday, November 11, and will reopen Thursday, November 12, during regular hours.The Recycling and Solid Waste Center (RSWC) will remain open as usual on Wednesday, November 11.
There will be curbside recycling collection on Wednesday November 11. Recycling pickup will occur as usual.

Alert: Flu Already Prevalent in NYS; Vaccination Strongly Encouraged

New York State Department of Health (NYS DOH) has declared influenza (flu) to already be prevalent statewide. The flu is a contagious respiratory illness caused by the influenza virus. Tompkins County Whole Health (TCWH) is urging the community to seek vaccination for the flu now, as it is unusual for cases to already be widespread. Last year, flu was not declared prevalent until December 2025.

Breast Cancer Screening & Early Detection Saves Lives

TC Whole Health is pleased to once again partner with Guthrie Lourdes Cancer Services Program to bring the Mobile Mammography Van to Tompkins County, to provide low or no-cost breast cancer screenings.

The Guthrie Lourdes “Mammo on the Move” Mobile Mammography Van will be at TCWH, 55 Brown Rd., Ithaca, on Wednesday, November 4th, from 9am-4pm. Please call 607-798-5723 to set up your appointment.
