On January 7, 2024 at 11:39 AM, Tompkins County Sheriff's Deputies stopped a Ford truck on North Meadow Street in the City of Ithaca for unsafe speed.
Deputies identified the driver of the truck as Jeremy M. Woodard, age 29 of Brooktondale, NY. While interviewing Woodard, deputies smelled a strong odor of marijuana and observed signs of impairment from Woodard. Through further investigation deputies determined the Woodard was too impaired to safely operate a motor vehicle. Woodard had a ten year old child that was not properly fastened by a seat belt in his vehicle as well.
Woodard was arrested and charged with Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs (Misdemeanor), Driving While Intoxicated- Child in Vehicle (Felony), uninspected motor vehicle, no seat belt for backseat passenger age 4-15, unsafe tire, and speed in zone. Woodard was issued tickets and is set to appear in the Town of Ithaca Court on January 31, 2024 at 10:30 AM.
