You can borrow dishware for your next event! By using our dishware instead of disposables, your event becomes more sustainable.

Dish it Out offers dishware for Tompkins County residents and organizations to borrow for small events.

TCRMM has an inventory of 2 sets of reusable stainless-steel dishware that serves 20 people each. Each Dish it Out set includes:

This free service helps organizers avoid buying and using single-use, disposable items for an event.Whether it's a birthday, retirement, graduation, or just a potluck with friends, any event is an opportunity to choose to reuse and help make a difference in Tompkins County.

The dish sets are reserved on a first come first served basis with a limit of 3 uses per year per household.

Borrower’s Agreements

  • Dishes are available on a first come first served basis. Requests must be submitted at least 3-4 working days in advance to ensure availability.
  • Dishes must be returned clean and in good condition within two business days following your event.
  • Advanced approval is required to pick up dishes.
  • Borrowers are required to wash dishes before and after use.
  • Dishes must be returned clean and in good condition within two business days following your event.
  • A given borrower (or household) may reserve dishes a maximum of three times a year, with exceptions made on a case-by-case basis.
  • Only county residents, businesses and community organizations may borrow dishware sets.
  • Borrowers may request up to two kits to accommodate larger events of up to 40 individuals.
  • Borrowers are responsible for all costs to repair or replace lost or broken equipment.
  • TCRMM is not liable for any damage or injuries that may arise from the use of the kit supplies. Please note that metal dishware is prone to transfer heat, handle with care.
  • Borrowers agree to do their best to minimize loss by announcing and posting included signage to inform all guests that the items are reusable.
  • Borrowers must remain in good standing to continue using the program.
